On Monday afternoon, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and City Commissioners made check presentations today at the City Council meeting totaling $436,724 in donations to nearly 500 different local and national charity organizations. Through the City of Orlando’s annual Workplace Giving Campaign, more than 1,300 City employees participated in the 2015 fundraiser.
“The Workplace Giving Campaign is one of the many ways City employees show their commitment to the community and give back,” said Dyer. “I was extremely impressed by the dedicated hard working members of our City family. Through their generous contributions, our employees are helping address some of the most critical issues facing Central Florida.”
Some local contributions included donations to Harbor House of Central Florida, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida Inc and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Orlando.
