A recent report from Apartment List indicates that Orlando has had the highest year-over-year rent growth at 9.0%. A 2-bedroom there averages $1,100, while a 1-bedroom goes for $950. In addition to showing the highest increase in rents, Orlando was also Florida’s 8th most expensive city for 2-bedroom figures.
Florida as a whole continues to see rent prices climb faster than the national average. Rent in the Sunshine State rose 4.6% compared to 3.2% for the rest of the country.
Orlando is still in the middle of the pack when compared to other major cities in Florida. A two bedroom will cost you $1,100 in the city beautiful. $1,1170 in Tampa and you can save if you move to Jacksonville where the rent goes for about $930. Miami remains one of the most expensive places in the United States to live with average rent priced at $2,020.
More local numbers have Casselberry, Apopka, Longwood, Winter Park, Sanford and Lake Mary all coming in at the $1,000 to $1,100 range. Prices in Maitland and Oviedo are the highest with a $1,300 average.
