This week, the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority announced August travel numbers registered a 7.4 percent increase in passenger traffic led by a nearly 10 and a half percent rise in international passenger volume. The news continue OIA’s pace of record breaking numbers.
“As Orlando International Airport continues to attract new airline service and routes, we have been able to maintain double-digit international passenger growth on a consistent basis,” says Frank Kruppenbacher, Chairman of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “This in turn grows this destination and helps to further stimulate the local economy.”
There was also a 7 percent increase in Domestic travel numbers and a 10 percent increase in rolling traffic over the previous year. The numbers come as the airport in undergoing a $1.1 billion dollar renovation project that will add new terminals, transportation options, and amenities to make travel easier.
