Orlando International has announced the addition of new amenities designed to make travel easier for visitors of all ages.
Some of the improvements include private nursing suites for mothers who wish to have privacy without leaving the airport and adult changing tables for caretakers to care for the elderly during their trips.
There are also new club rooms available to eligible members that include wifi, business centers, childrens rooms and a shower.
Passengers of select airlines can now have the ability to remotely check in their bags without having to pull them through the terminal. Remote bag check-in is being tested in the parking garages and is being tested for eventual implementation into the new south parking garage slated to open later this year.
“Record numbers of daily travelers combined with our most intensive construction program ever have spurred us to look for creative ways to enhance the overall Orlando Experience,” says Phil Brown, Executive Director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “Focusing on people and making each traveler comfortable are keys to our success.”
The announced improvements are minor compared to the multi-billion dollar renovations taking place at the airport that includes a new terminal, transportation intermodal facility and numerous improvements around OIA.
