The Florida Constitution Revision Commission has announced it will return to Orlando on June 6th for a meeting on the rules and scheduling for the commission as they move further into their process. The CRC is a group of appointees that meets every 20 years for the purpose of recommending changes to the Florida constitution for voter consideration.
The CRC meeting will take place June 6th at the University of Central Florida. The CRC held their first meeting at UCF earlier this year to a capacity crowd. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9am.
Chairman Carlos Beruff published a letter saying that the meeting will revolve around finding a consensus on the rules. A rules working group convened but the Chairman says a full meeting is needed “I think you will agree that consensus on the rules must be achieved on an expedited timeline to ensure we can continue our very important commitment to Americans.”
Orlando’s central location in the state has made it a popular choice for Commissioners thus far in the process. Another meeting is scheduled later in June for a to be determined location in Central Florida. It’s also possible the CRC will return in the fall.
