Protesters gathered at the Orange County Courthouse on Saturday afternoon, to hold the Orlando “March of Truth”, one of many marches taking place around the country demanding an impartial investigation into Russian interference in last year’s election and possible ties to the Donald Trump administration.
The program featured professors, attorneys, and grassroots volunteers who each gave their perspective into the importance of transparency in government.
“Americans have the freedom of information act. There our country’s x-rays and allow us to see into our government.” said Chardo Richardson, President of the Central Florida ALCU “If our government is going to lead us, they must be transparent and we are here to stand with the people in calling for that transparency.”
After the program was completed, protesters marched around the courthouse calling for a change. The group was accompanied by an Orlando Police Department escort and the demonstration was peaceful.
A turning point in the Russia investigation could occur when former FBI Director James Comey testifies before a Senate committee in Washington. The hearing is set for Thursday.
