ALDI has announced it has hopes of expanding to 2,500 stores in the U.S by the end of 2022. The Germany based grocer is building on it’s growth strategy to remodel it’s 1,300 stores by 2020. They estimate the growth will make them the third biggest grocery store chain in the United States.
“We pioneered a grocery model built around value, convenience, quality and selection and now ALDI is one of America’s favorite and fastest growing retailers,” said Jason Hart, CEO. “We’re growing at a time when other retailers are struggling. We are giving our customers what they want, which is more organic produce, antibiotic-free meats and fresh healthier options across the store, all at unmatched prices up to 50 percent lower than traditional grocery stores.”
Here in Central Florida, the grocery battle continues between Publix and Walmart’s Neighborhood Markets and expanded department stores. Aldi has expanded in the region over the past several years by establishing a presence over most of Central Florida.
